Hey friends,
Thanks for considering to partner with me in conquering the domain of the evil one (Col. 1:13-14) !!
Fun fact with Caleb: The etymology of the word "gospel" is found in the Greek word "euangelion". Euangelion translates literally to the words "good news" (eu = good; angelion = announcement).
But, the "good news" isn't just any good news; euangelion (and its Hebrew word equivalent, "besorah") were used to describe national or royal announcements. The words describe such news as when a new king was inaugerated, or a new child was delivered into the royal family, or when a war was won. Royal messengers would travel quickly all throughout the kingdom and declare loudly to all the people this new "good news". The whole nation would enter the streets and celebrate the announcement, and people would go to their neighbours to share in the news.
Euangelion isn't just good news; it's a royal announcement that demands we go declare it to everyone we can.
When Christ on His cross conquered sin and killed death, He gave us the best, most beautiful news we will ever be blessed to hear: That we have been "saved by grace through faith. And this is not of your own doing; it is a gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast" (Eph. 2:8-9).
We are ambassadors of Christ, and we are to share His gospel of reconciliation and peace.
From this knowledge grows my desire to go share His "euangelion" with high school leavers. This is a wonderful privilege, and I'm tremendously blessed to have been gifted this opportunity.
I ask that you join me in this journey, and in this war against the evil one. Please consider with extensive prayer your ability to give. Even if you're unable to give in this time, your prayers are still valuable to us; after all, in the words of the Puritan Thomas Lye, "Let the debauched atheists know that they have something among you to be feared, that is, your prayers."
If you have any questions, or you wish for any other fun facts or fun quotes, reach out to me, and I'd love to catch up sometime.
God bless,
Caleb :)
Thank you for partnering with Power to Change in equipping young Christians with the skills and vision to reach those around them with the gospel. In these uncertain times due to COVID 19, Summer and Global Missions may need to adjust or change the way we run missions. Any unused funds due to these adjustments will be used to assist students to better reach their campus.
