Greetings, all! It is my pleasure to share that I have joined the Mission Mekong team to Cambodia by the end of 2025. This will be my first mission trip, and I very much look forward to being able to serve God on the frontlines and see how He might personally work through me to carry the gospel and reach foreign nations.
I had previously seldom thought of myself as one to go on missions and gospel sharing due to introversion, but in this past year I have experienced God's guidance in many aspects of life, slowly learned to walk obediently in faith outside of old comfort zones, and took on new ventures with the courage that He provides. I had learned about the mission opportunities earlier this year in a Power to Change Winter Conference, and I was granted new insight into how one might serve God through living out the Great Commission and bringing the hope of the gospel to different nations and all people.
My heart breaks for those who have never heard of or only had a partial understanding of the gospel in this age of both misinformation and disinformation. In Romans 10:14-15 Paul wrote,
' How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" (ref. Isaiah 52:7) '
I was convicted by a single question that rang through my heart, "If you're not willing to be sent, then who is?" Through prayer and peers' encouragement, I took heart and decided to be a part of God's movement to share Jesus Christ and His love, joy and peace. Through this mission opportunity, I pray I may be able to use my talents and spiritual gifts to serve others and share the true message of the gospel, to let them know how much God loves them and wants all people to come home.
Thank you for your time and any support that might be given, prayerfully and/or through giving! All glory to God for He is our Provider, Lord and Savior who desires to bless and save all nations!
Yours in Christ,
Cyrus Chu
