Hi, thanks so much for considering to partner with me for the Mekong Missions trip to Cambodia. I’m really excited and honored about this opportunity, knowing that we’ll be reaching out to students who might not have heard about God before.
Since I’m in my final year of university - studying a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and majoring in Computer Science - and have been involved with Power to Change, I feel like God is pushing me to grow my faith even more. When I found out about this trip, it felt like the perfect moment that God had been preparing me for.
Through my involvement with Power to Change on campus, I’ve had many deep spiritual conversations that have strengthened my faith. Engaging with different perspectives and answering questions about Christianity, has really helped me grow in my relationship with God.
I’ve also studied Comparative Religion, including Buddhism, which is the main religion in Cambodia. This background has given me a better understanding of their culture and beliefs, making me feel more prepared to share the Gospel with those who practice Buddhism.
In Cambodia, where Theravada Buddhism is predominant and only 1-3% of people are Christian, the Christian community has seen slow but steady growth since the Khmer Rouge era. After the horrors of that time, Christian groups stepped in with aid, education, and support, helping to build a positive relationship with Cambodians and earning a place for religious freedom.
With this history in mind, I’m truly honored to be part of a team continuing this important mission, offering care and love, and sharing the Gospel with the Cambodian people.
Thank you for partnering with Power to Change in equipping young Christians with the skills and vision to reach those around them with the gospel. In these uncertain times due to COVID 19, Summer and Global Missions may need to adjust or change the way we run missions. Any unused funds due to these adjustments will be used to assist students to better reach their campus.
