Hi everyone! I'm Dylan, a third year physio student at Monash University, avid Carlton supporter, and a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.

Two years ago, I took a bold leap of faith and went on a mission trip. At the time, I had little experience sharing my faith and the thought of having spiritual conversations with strangers was daunting. However, empowered by the Holy Spirit, over two weeks, I was able to chat with many, many people, and even shared the gospel with a handful. It was a valuable experience, gaining confidence in my evangelism skills, amassing many interesting stories, making great friends, and of course, growing closer with God.

And now, I am going once again.

This summer, I will be travelling up to the beautiful beaches of Rye for two weeks to share the good news and initiate spiritual conversations with recently graduated high school students. On the first week of mission, there will be a bigger emphasis on evangelism training with some opportunities for outreach. Second week will be all about putting it into practice as we converse with the “Schoolies” from morning to late. Time alone with God and prayer will be a big part of this mission to ensure we are continually spiritually edified and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Since I’ve previously been to Rye for a summer mission, I hope to use my experience and knowledge to encourage others to initiate spiritual conversations. At the same time, it's been a while since my last mission trip, so I hope to refine my evangelism skills. Since taking a gap year in July, I've been thinking about my future and how I can best glorify God with my life - whether it's as a full-time physio, or becoming a missionary or a pastor or something completely different, however He wants to use me. I'm unsure what my future looks like, but I will put my complete trust in God, and I hope this mission helps to make it a bit clearer to me.  

God's love is transformative and I cannot wait to see lives be changed when a group of ambassadors of Christ live out the Great Commission in love and in truth. I hope you share this feeling and consider supporting my friends and I on this mission trip.
